Kim Eunhae explores how sanctity and value come to be attached to objects, moving between painting, installation, and archival research. Working primarily with ash, the residue of burning, she records narratives of absence and belief drawn from what has been exhausted and forgotten. Ash is a material that has reached the end of its use, yet it also carries traces of time, memory, and change, holding both shared history and personal history within it. Her work moves between the sacred and the everyday, between absence and presence, revealing the possibility of dignity and memory that persists even through erasure. She earned her BFA and MFA in Korean Painting from Ewha Womans University, where she is currently pursuing a PhD. She is currently based in Seoul.
