SOFT BOUNDARIES
《SOFT BOUNDARIES》
《SOFT BOUNDARIES》

SOFT BOUNDARIES – Shifting Between Boundaries
《SOFT BOUNDARIES》 brings together Kim Eunhae, Im Jueon, and Cho Hyeyun to explore how boundaries are formed, shifted, and transformed through painting, sculpture, and installation. Moving across material and memory, body and image, sensation and space, the three artists approach boundaries not as fixed divisions, but as fluid states that continuously change through contact and interaction.
Rather than defining what exists on either side of a boundary, the exhibition focuses on the moments when distinctions become unstable. Surfaces change over time, images move between attraction and unease, and bodily forms extend into the surrounding space. Through these different approaches, boundaries emerge as temporary conditions shaped by perception, experience, and material transformation.
Kim Eunhae explores surfaces altered by the passage of time and the traces that remain upon them. Her paintings move between disappearance and persistence, revealing states in which what has faded continues to exist through residual marks and sensations. Im Jueon draws from fashion imagery and its processes of selection, styling, and repetition. Through garments, accessories, and bodily images, her paintings examine the coexistence of attraction and artificiality, desire and anxiety within the visual language of fashion. Cho Hyeyun begins with organic forms that evoke the body, developing them into sculptural structures that extend beyond bodily boundaries and enter into relationships with the surrounding space.
Within the exhibition, these distinct practices encounter one another without being reduced to a single definition of the boundary. The surface of painting, the represented body, and the physical presence of sculpture create different points of contact throughout the space. As viewers move between them, distinctions between image and object, body and environment, interior and exterior become increasingly fluid.
《SOFT BOUNDARIES》 proposes the boundary not as a line that separates, but as a space where different states meet, overlap, and transform. By bringing together three practices that approach change through different visual languages, the exhibition invites viewers to experience boundaries as flexible relationships that are continually formed and reconfigured through encounters between material, memory, body, and space.
